SME4Labour, Tech UK & Huawei Fringe: The Tech Reception: How can tech support the UK to build back better after Covid?
Event Summary:
Our Tech reception took place Monday at 5.30pm and was sponsored by our partners at Tech UK. Our reception offered the chance for guests to come together and discuss the state of the technology industries in the UK as well as hearing what steps Labour can take to support the tech industries as we move out of the pandemic. At our repcetion we heard from Julian David, CEO of Tech UK, Ashley Lumsden of Huawei, and Chi Onurah MP, Shadow Minister for Science, Research & Digital. Our speakers highlighted the importance of Technology to the UK economy, further emphasising the important role of technology to our society and the economy as we move out of the pandemic.
Our reception brought together a large number of guests who enjoyed refreshments courtesy of Tech UK. The event represented a significant opportunity to discuss the importance of the Tech industry in rebuilding the economy post-pandemic, as well a chance to discuss the importance of a strong Labour voice within the Tech industry as the country moves out of the pandemic and beyond.
