We are very excited that SME4Labour will be organising its second annual parliamentary reception, kindly hosted by Bill Esterson, MP for Sefton Central and Shadow Business and International Trade Minister.
Since founded, SME4Labour has been able to create opportunities for vibrant and enlightening analysis and discussion of issues concerning self-employed people and small and medium enterprises. Please take a look at our annual report here.
Our guests and supporters come from across the Labour family. We recently organised our second gala dinner and the Labour Excellence Awards at Park Lane Sheraton Hotel which was attended by over 60 Labour MPs and peers, including several members of the shadow cabinet. The Labour Party believes that small and medium enterprises businesses are the backbone of the United Kingdom. As of 2016, SMEs make up 99.3% of all private sector businesses in the United Kingdom, employing over 15.7 million people with an estimated combined annual turnover of £1.8 trillion accounted for 47% of private sector turnover.
Through SME4Labour, we want to provide a forum whereby SMEs can work in partnership with the Labour Party and continue to inform our economic policies.
We will be joined by our guest speakers, Bill Esterson MP and members of the shadow cabinet and many other MPs and Peers.
