As part of Labour’s Shadow Business team, I’ve engaged throughout the pandemic week in, week out with small businesses as we’ve urged the government to improve support, and mend the gaps in the Coronavirus safety net for firms and those Ministers have excluded. SME4Labour have been an essential partner in that, linking our team with businesses, and providing a forum and meeting space to listen to key issues and concerns.
As we move to recovery, it’s vital that our business engagement continues. We’ll work together to strengthen Labour’s relationship with businesses, and harness the spirit of partnership we’ve seen through the pandemic, to develop policies and ideas to create a fairer, more prosperous economy which lets small business thrive and grow.
