I have been a committed Labour Party member all my adult life and for the last 25 years, like so many other people across the UK, I have worked in small businesses employing less than 50 people. Last year I decided to start my own business, my opportunity to build a business with Labour values at its heart.
It is so important that those that work in small businesses, and those that run small businesses, have a voice in the Labour Party.
If the Labour Party is the party for workers, then it must listen to the experiences and ideas of those in small business, not just those represented by the large trade unions. SME for Labour has such an important role in promoting the issues and concerns of small businesses across all sectors and parts of the UK.
