SME’s make a significant contribution to our economy both through the revenue they generate and the people they employ, and this has never been more in focus than over the last year. Here in Milton Keynes our Labour-run Council have developed a Covid-19 Economic Recovery Action Plan and allocated £2.25 million specifically to supporting the local economy and putting businesses and people at the heart of recovery over the coming months. The Government have left behind too many of these local businesses and self-employed people during the crisis and never has it been more important for Labour to work with SME’s to develop a deep understanding of the issues that affect them and work to ensure they receive the support they need to thrive.
