SME4Labour 3rd Anniversary Gala 2018 press release

On Tuesday 18th December, SME4Labour will host its third annual Anniversary Gala and Labour Excellence Awards. SME4Labour works to strengthen the relationship between the Labour movement and the small and medium sized businesses that are the backbone of their local communities and the British economy.

The event will be held at the at Park Plaza London Riverbank hotel and will be attended by over 400 guests. This will include numerous Labour MPs and peers, including several members of the shadow cabinet. They will be joined by mayors, local councillors and other members of the Labour family, alongside trade union leaders and distinguished figures from the business community.

Many prominent figures from the Labour party, such as Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, will be in attendance. On the night, SME4Labour will outline the excellent work it has done so far, and – with your help and generous contributions – what it will strive to do in the future.

Last year’s event included speakers such as Angela Rayners MP, Rebecca Long-Bailey MP, Jon Ashworth MP,  Bill Esterson MP, Shadow Minister for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; Iain McNicol, General Secretary of the Labour Party; Stephen Kinnock MP; and Tim Roache, General Secretary of the GMB; all of whom praised SME4Labours work in promoting the interests of small and medium sized enterprises and the self employed.

Although not in attendance, Leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn, sent this message of support:

“SME4 Labour provides small businesses with a way to have their voices heard, which are too often drowned out by larger companies and corporations. I’d like to thank and congratulate my colleagues in the SME4Labour team for their contribution to an economic policy that works for the many, not the few.”
